Environmental: All our clothing OEKO-TEX 100 STANDARD certified, which guarantees the safety of our textiles and dyestuffs to human health and also means care is taken in adopting environmentally friendly production methods across all our range. The Oeko-Tex 100 Standard addresses the Human Ecology component of textiles intended to come into contact with consumers.
Organic: The ORGANIC COTTON is a stock collection of the highest quality blank garments produced in 100% pure organically grown cotton. It is certified by the Control Union World Group, to the organic Exchange 100 guidelines and the Skal International standards for sustainable textile prodcution, which verify conformity with organic regulations of Europe, Japan and the United States.
The cotton is cultivated in the Aegean region, wholly without the use of pesticides and chemical fertilizers, in "Living Soil" that has been free from any toxic substances for at least 3 years and enriched by organic compost and other organic matter. This means that the soil and water supply are cleaner, which in turn protects the local population and wildlife. The resulting cotton fibre is processed into fabrics without the use of harmful chemicals or bleach.
We offer both undyed and dyed organic cotton items, and to achieve organic certification only azo-free dyes that meet the requirements of the Global Organic Standard are used in the dyeing process; our Oeko-Tex Standard certification comprehensively addresses these issues.
Why go organic? The synthetic chemical fertilizers and pesticides used in conventional "modern" cotton farming are responsible for a large scale contamination of the soil and ground waters. Certified organic cotton is grown using methods and materials that have a low impact on the environment. Orgnanic cultivation and production systems replenish and maintain soil fertility, reduce the global use of toxic and persistent fertilizers and pesticides, and build a biologically diverse agriculture.
Switching to organic cotton allows us to improve the lives of millions of people and make a real difference to the global environment.
Sustainable: Naturally sustainable BAMBOO is rapidly emerging into the fashion world. Fabric woven from bamboo yarn is light, almost transluent, and softer than cotton. It has a natural quality that feels like silk, but has the advantage of being machine-washable.
This natural fibre is hypoallergenic, absorbent, and fast drying. It is naturally anti-bacterial and will not hold odour. Like other natural fibres, it allows the body to breath as the fabric absorbs the perspiration away from the body.
It is also the most sustainable of natural fibres; the type of bamboo used for making fabric, commonly known as Moso, can reach a mature height of 75 feet in just 45 days and because of its natural antibacterial properties, it needs no pesticides. It regenerates naturally through extensive root system that sends out an average of four to six new shoots per year. It can be harvested and harvested and it will grow again and again.
The bamboo used for our fabric is planted on family-owned farms in China that have been in agricultural use for generations.
